Dr. Jeffrey B. Michel, MD FACC

As a physician, Dr. Jeffrey B. Michel thinks of himself as a bridge, connecting cutting edge scientific advances to the people they are meant to help. Dr. Michel knows the value of staying abreast of scientific and medical innovation. He spent a number of years doing research. He understands science and knows scientists. As a doctor, he also knows medicine. So he knows when patients will benefit from new treatments and when they will not. Too often doctors get stuck in their ways, and their patients miss out on newer, better treatments. Dr. Michel stays up to speed on innovations in his field. He says many of the best tools for treating cardiac disease didn’t exist five years ago.Dr. Michel earned his medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas. He completed his internship and residency programs in Internal Medicine at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center Hospitals in Parkland and Dallas, respectively. Dr. Michel completed his Cardiology fellowship at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, Mass.

A former Assistant Consulting Professor of Medicine at Duke University, Dr. Michel is trained in general cardiology with special training in noninvasive imaging and cardiovascular research. He is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology and a fellow of the Sarnoff Endowment for Cardiovascular Research.

The most rewarding part of my practice is getting to know my patients and working with them to achieve their maximum health. I get up every morning looking forward to meeting new patients and seeing the progress that established patients are making.
