If you have been diagnosed with a cardiovascular condition, such as heart failure or atrial fibrillation, or if you have a history of heart attacks, strokes, or other cardiovascular events, you may need additional, more frequent tests. Cardiology is the medical treatment of the heart and of parts of the circulatory system in relation to the heart. At Central Texas Heart Center, we are proud to be the only cardiovascular center in Central Texas that has received the accreditation of a Thoracic Pain Center with primary PCI and resuscitation granted by the Society for Cardiovascular Patient Care (SCPC). Obesity increases the risk of health problems such as heart disease, strokes, atrial fibrillation, congestive heart failure, and more.
To help combat this issue, AdventHealth Central Texas won an award for meeting specific criteria and performance standards to provide prompt and appropriate treatment through emergency procedures to restore blood flow to clogged arteries in patients with a heart attack who are admitted directly to the hospital or are transferred from another center.
